ASTRA 2005 – our core polycotton fabric for demanding workwear
At 235 g/m², ASTRA 2005 is the heavier option in our standard polycotton range. The 35% cotton content keeps the fabric comfortable and breathable against the skin, while 65% polyester delivers the abrasion resistance and dimensional stability a daily-wear garment needs. The twill weave gives a dense surface that stands up to friction and to repeated industrial laundering.
Where it is used
This is the right choice where garments are worn eight hours a day and washed often: work trousers, jackets, coveralls and boiler suits. The 235 g/m² weight suits sectors with high mechanical stress — construction, manufacturing, workshops, logistics — and it is equally suited to the colder months, where a heavier cloth is an advantage.
If you need a lighter polycotton for the same garment types, see ASTRA 2004 (195 g/m²). For a higher cotton content, see ASTRA 2006 (60/40, 200 g/m²).

ASTRA 2005 is a fabric from the Astra range — composition 35% cotton / 65% polyester, weight 235 g./sq. m. ±5%, width 150 cm, twill weave. It is intended for workwear — trousers, jackets, coveralls. We keep it in stock in our warehouse in Sofia and deliver within 24–48 hours in Bulgaria and Romania. Astra has been manufacturing and supplying workwear fabrics since 1989 and is certified to ISO 9001:2015. ASTRA 2005 is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 — tested for harmful substances.
